Uche, Martin Anibueze's Lessons

Narrative and descriptive Composition

Objectives: At the end of the lesson, the students should be familiar with the meaning of narrative and descriptive essays and answer some questions on narrative and descriptive essays (pre-test).

Duration: 45 minutes

Activity: the teacher comes into the class and after formal greetings, explains to students that different methods are available to the teacher to effect the desirable learning outcome in the student. Students are reminded that they are already familiar with face-to-face where the teacher hands down pieces of information while students copy notes. This is different from blended instruction because in blended instruction students will combine face-to-face with the use of online learning resources.  Students are meant to locate samples of narrative and descriptive compositions online and read up.

Teacher explains the meaning of narrative and descriptive essays, and leads the students to generate titles for narrative and descriptive essays.  Teacher distributes question papers to students and asks them to answer within a stipulated time frame.  After the test, teacher collects the answer scripts and proceeds to ask questions on the discussion of the day.
